Turn off Autoplay in Facebook

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Are you sick of the ALS Ice Bucket challenge videos autoplaying everytime you open Facebook and using your monthly allowance of broadband bandwidth.  Do you want to turn off this annoying feature but don't know how to.  Read on to find out how.

 

 

 

Facebook Desktop App

Click on the little downward facing arrow on the top right hand corner of the screen (next to the padlock and notification globe).  Select Settings from the drop down menu then click on Videos in the left hand menu.  The Video Settings window will open in the larger part of the screen and you will see Autoplay Videos, click the little button at the end that says On and select Off instead.  Click on Home in the top menu to return to your newsfeed.

Facebook Android App

Tap on the three horizontal lines on the right hand side towards the top.  Scroll down to the Help & Settings section, tap App Settings, tap Video Autoplay and the click Off.  Press the back button to return to the Settings menu and then tap the first tab to return to your NewsFeed.

Facebook iPhone App

On an iPhone, go to Settings and scroll down until you find Facebook. Tap on it and then tap Settings. Next, tap on the Autoplay setting and choose Off .
